I can recommend friendly staff and a quiet stay
Small, compact, retro style hotel. : D everything could need a little more repairs. it was clean except for the hair dryer. Staff was friendly.
Very friendly staff! Inexpensive but sparsely furnished rooms! Shower old! Breakfast very economical!
Nice place, everything serca and Armin the receptionist is very friendly nothing to say. Happy
We were in the restaurant due to a closed event. It is surprising to see how little the lady at the bar felt like working and hosting us. I have rarely seen someone so grim in the catering trade - and that for the entire evening, too bad.
Nice hotel in a very good location in Frankfurt directly at the zoo. From there, everything very easy to reach.
The staff at Am Zoo are incredible. The location is prime for families as you are so close to the zoo. It is worth it to take a bus or taxi from the train station, but it isn’t SO far if you want to walk it the whole way. I would certainly return for more nights in the future. Thank you Am Zoo!
The front desk staff was very friendly. However, once the room was checked for cleanliness, it did not leave a good feeling. The breakfast buffet was kept very minimal, but you could get full.
Left from eighties need definitly renovation... Best thing iş so closed to City Center...
Good location and a solid hotel for under € 50. Receptionist was super nice. Two star deduction due to small defects and paid WiFi. It is 2020, not 2004. (The free WiFi specified by HRS is hardly usable, it gets faster for 4 € a day)
Very fair, but quiet and clean. As it is cheap, nothing to object
We ate plain bourgeois and enjoyed eating our wine in the quiet, cozy restaurant. Very nice service.
Nice hotel in an awesome neighborhood! Close to the city center
Rooms in the annex are sometimes also used for school classes or who? knows the vulture, rented out, this time unfortunately smell of smoke and rap music until at least 1:30 in the morning. Rooms are very clean, nicely partially renovated, only cloakroom, desk, no extra closet. View OK, balcony over parking lot. Receptionist: Friendly and correct.
Rooms are great, Isolation perfekt, stuff polite. Price great, pets are allowed
Room looks unclean, mattress super hard, stink in the room. Toilet glasses broken off, telephone cables hung from the wall without a telephone. Can only advise against staying here. Never again !!
Good public transport links, parking, short walk to promenade, friendly staff, clean, quiet.
Nice people at reception. Good location. Hotel bit dated and breakfast very basic with not most friendly service at bbreakfast
With 1.90 m height you get in the single beds big problems. Fortunately, I got a double bed room after a note, but never had such back pain after the night because the mattress was hard. Not a real pillow and the bathroom is loveless whitewashed '60s style. I think the price is not appropriate. The staff was very nice.
Stayed here for almost a week no problems at all, good hotel
Have the ability to stay somewhere else? Good! Do that! Arrived and the sheets on the bed were covered in hair (not ours). Towels smelled strongly of cigarettes. The person at the front desk didn’t put up any resistance when we asked for new towels, and sheets, though — New sheets were clean, as were the towels...until our last night, when they reeked of cigarettes again. Tried to get candy from the vending machine at some point, and were advised by same front desk person “I wouldn’t eat that if I were you.” Free internet didn’t work at all. Bed was hard and uncomfortable, and I prefer hard beds. Cool! Only redeeming qualities of the hotel are the nice gentleman who sits at the front desk on weekday nights, and the homemade brown bread at breakfast (amazing). Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
Clean rooms and good breakfast. Bed could be more comfortable. 24h reception. Sometimes is problem with parking becouse you have to find place on the streets around the hotel.
Simple room, very friendly staff, rich breakfast. Bed great, I have rarely slept so well in a hotel.
Clean and nice for night over
No ac but clean with nice staff
Nice hotel and great place
All good in the room. The bar waitress super attentive.
As the name implies, very close to the zoo. That's why we booked there. Very nice and friendly welcome. Neat rooms. Very clean. Parking is available for a fee, these should also be booked, otherwise it looks very bad with parking. Quite quiet for the location. Good price / performance ratio.
My room was good. It was a celebration in the area and it was a bit noisy, but the hotel can not help it. The associated restaurant is wonderful. Very child friendly. Food wonderful.
This hotel grew on me. Clean very professional and friendly staff. Hotel was situated in a very nice area conveniently located.
All ok here, great food in the restaurant
Monkey horny Austrian waitress, cool music, delicious beer. Imme again gladly
Very cold room. Rude reception. Smelly toilet. Old building, dirty window with feces of birds on the glass. In freezing cold nights of winter wind is blowing from frames of window into the room. Radiator is so small and barely enough. No additional heating devices the lady at reception told me. Only extra sheets. I used those extra sheets to cover the frame of window! I attached the photo with this review :-D And finally you have WIFI as mentioned in your booking. But it's so slow. For access to the premium WIFI you have to pay extra! This hotel has two buildings. And there are two sets of reviews here. Those who gave good review and those who gave a bad review. Once the lady at reception asked me to fill a form along with my nationality, gave me the key to one of the buildings with all the problems I described above. She also refused to change my room to the other building. Now here is a general tip for you specially when booking a hotel in Germany: When reading reviews, look where the commenting person is from. If most people from your continent or country gave a bad review, while most local people or people from Europe gave good reviews, then there might be a serious problem, which people like me and you can simply avoid by not going to the place. So be aware. I do not suggest this hotel to anyone.
Bad connection internet
Book here regularly. Hotel is right on the zoo and is a bit older. Rooms are regularly upgraded or renovated. Great selection at breakfast and very nice staff. The brasserie was put on new feet this year and has become really comfortable.
It is low budget and low quality. The first room I was allocated had no heating. The second room I was given had no opening window and the tv didn't work. Good was good.
Price is high and everything is normal mid level
Frankfurt is a place with many many events, like coultural or business events. Taking a tour in Frankfurt when there is an event, like a fair or a concert or anything like that may cause to big spendings. Before traveling to frankfurt is better to know some things about the place. Frankfurt is a small place with many many visitors, sometimes the visitors are more than the city real can afford! That means extra costs! it is very expensive to pay 100 or 200 Euro for one night in a 3 stars hotel but when is the last room in the town you would like to pay even more instead of sleeping in the park! So about this hotel, it's a good version of a budget hotel, for travelers or casual business people, nobody could ask more from a 3 stars hotel isn't it? If you come in Frankfurt in the middle of the book fair or the auto moto fair, which are some of the most popular events every Autumn in Frankfurt, don't accept to find even a place on a hostel with less than 100 euro! Cheers
Good location with friendly staff. Simpel and basic but nice.
The free wifi is just an awful advertising trial, there is no such thing because its speed is limited so badly that everybody prefers to use phone connection. Rooms are clean and the breakfast quality is acceptable
Friendly staff, simple nice room but not worth the money.
My company reserved me a room for two nights in this Hotel for 410 Euro and it was definitely not worth it. The room's furniture and the bathroom were mega old and the outflow of the water in the bathtub was bad. The blankets inside the covers were yellow and the breakfast was also not worth it. For the amount of the money paid, it was absolutely a disaster.
never again.. rooms smell like smoke... noisy and dirty!
Room was ok and bathroom too. Lack of air conditioning will be an issue during the summer. Enjoyed the restaurant and the willingness of the staff to provide service in English as well as humour my substandard German. Not a fancy hotel but certainly did the job.
Nice place
Booked a double room and we were given a twin room that looked like ithe other guests had never left. Empty beer cans, used ear buds, tissues all over the floor. I went back to complain they gave me another room which was a double with no apology at all. In the booking it was also promised there would be a balcony and there was none.
Excellent location close to U- and S-Bahn and 10 minutes walk from main shopping street Zeil. However it is cheap hotel and only for travellers with limited budget. For two stars conditions are very good. Clean and quiet. Take rooms for 2 only not single rooms.
Its ok
Srdnji rang sob
A good hotel but a little expensive and no WiFi and breakfast included, you must pay for WiFi 4€ per night and 8€ for the breakfast. but I found out thier is offer when you take more days with WIFI it'll be cheaper for ex: when you take 5 days with WIFI it'll be the price 10€ it's fair.
